On behalf of the team here at St John’s CE Primary School I would like to welcome you to our school website, where I hope you will find a lot of useful information about our school. We are a one-form entry primary school welcoming children from the age of 2 years 3 months to age 11. St John’s is committed to providing a strong Christian ethos which is at the heart of all that we do as a school. What a great time we had at our Silent Disco Fundraiser, on Friday 12th June, for our Kenyan Link School! Thank you to everyone who helped out - staff and parents #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
Yesterday, Thursday 11th June, our Year 6 class travelled to Salisbury Cathedral to take part in the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust Leavers' Service. It was a wonderful way to say goodbye to all of the Year 6 classes across our DSAT schools. Thank you to all of the organisers for putting this lovely service together. #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
Year 6 have been busy completing their DT project, making bread. They have been learning to weigh the ingredients carefully, mix them into a dough, knead the bread to help it rise, leave it to prove and bake it. They worked in small groups and flavoured the bread with garlic, cheese, chocolate (but not raisins!) and then tried different techniques to shape the bread into interesting shapes. They made plaits, cats, spiders, swirls, snails and so many more! The classroom had the most wonderful smell yesterday, Monday 8th June, and we had such a great day. We definitely have some budding bakers in this class! #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
Reminder - Tickets for our upcoming Silent Disco are available to buy on The Arbor App, £5 per child. All money raised will go directly to our Kenya Link School – Wiru School.
On Thursday 4th June, St John's and Beechcroft St Paul's nursery classes joined together for a day out at Farmer Palmers. The children all held a guinea pig, fed the goats and sheep, brushed the coats of the donkeys and enjoyed the play park. It was a fantastic opportunity to develop collaboration across both Early Years classes and to see the children really enjoy socialising with each other. #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
We are looking forward to welcoming our September 2026 Reception Class parents and carers at our Information Meeting on Wednesday 10th June, at 6pm, in the school hall. Please remember to bring your child's birth certificate (preferably the long one with full details). Thank you in advance If you would like to purchase a St John's book bag (£5) or PE bag (£4), they will be available before and after the meeting. Please note, we are only able to accept cash payments.
Donations Needed We are in need of some child sized umbrellas for our upcoming performance of Moana. If you have any unwanted umbrellas and would be happy to donate them, please drop them off to the school office. Please note, we will be unable to return the umbrellas. Thank you in advance
Yesterday, Tuesday 2nd June, St. John's attended their first dodgeball tournament. It was fast-paced, competitive and exhausting but they stayed resilient and managed to win a few games against tough competition. They all had fun and showed the school values throughout. Well done to all the team! #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
Year 4 spent 3 days at Leeson House 20th-22nd May and they all had a brilliant time! They visited Corfe Castle and Studland Beach as well as travelling on The Swanage Railway in a steam train. The children behaved impeccably and did us all proud! #growingandlearningtogether #stjohnswey
